Employee turnover in a company refers to the movement of workers in and out of employment. It disrupts planning and production. Employee turnover comes in several forms: voluntary separations, layoffs, discharges for disciplinary reasons, retirement, or permanent disability. Employee turnover may be defined as the ratio of the number of employees hired to replace those who have left, to the total number employees.
