Effect of daily aciclovir on HIV disease progression in individuals in Rakai, Uganda, co-infected with HIV-1 and herpes simplex virus type 2: A randomised, double-blind placebo-controlled trial
2012, The Lancet Infectious DiseasesCitation Excerpt :Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% CIs of antiretroviral therapy eligibility in the aciclovir group compared with the placebo group were estimated by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox proportional hazard regression for the adjusted analyses. We did a prespecified adjustment of the primary analyses for baseline HIV viral load and CD4 cell counts.19 Baseline HIV viral load was categorised into four groups (<10 000, 10 000–49 999, 50 000–99 999, and ≥100 000 copies per mL) and CD4 cell counts were stratified into two groups (300–349 and ≥350 cells per μL).
