Extended structural modulation of bio-inspired chiral lipidic alkynylcarbinols as antitumor pharmacophores
2015, TetrahedronCitation Excerpt :In 2002, Pu et al. reported a system based on the combination of (+)- or (−)-BINOL and Ti(OiPr)4 as a chiral Lewis acidic auxiliary, giving high ee's from various substrates.16 Trost et al. proposed the use of ProPhenol as a chiral ligand of Zn(II),17 while Zhong and Guo described the alternative use of a cyclopropane-containing 1,4-aminoalcohol ligand (Scheme 1).18 In 2006, a modified Carreira procedure was applied to the particular case of the double-headed acetylenedicarbaldehyde cobalt complex 3, giving the triynediol 4 with high stereoselectivity (Scheme 2).19
Marine polyacetylenes: Distribution, biological properties, and synthesis
2015, Studies in Natural Products ChemistryCitation Excerpt :The brominated C24–C26 fatty acid esters (32A–32C) were located into the cells of the sponge Amphimedon terpenensis. Their purification was conducted by the Ficoll density gradient fractionation [46] (Fig. 35). Three acetylenic and one alkene 3-alkylpyridine glycosides named amphimedosides (33A–33D) were also extracted from Amphimedon species [47] (Fig. 36).
Biosynthesis and function of polyacetylenes and allied natural products
2008, Progress in Lipid ResearchCitation Excerpt :Lembehyne A (33J), derived from an Indonesian Haliclona sp. sponge, has a structure suggestive of PK origins. This linear C36 diacetylenic alcohol induces neuritogenesis in Neuro 2A neuroblastoma cells resulting in bipolar neuritis [356]. A photoaffinity probe based on 33J, [125I]-azido-LB-18, specifically labeled in vivo a 30-kDa protein in Neuro 2A cells is anticipated to be the target of 33J [357].
